Unique aspects of the Tavor Institute

Tavor specializes in making Jewish-Zionist content and its connection to the Israeli experience accessible.

Connection to the goal – The Tavor Zionist Leadership Academy and Tavor Institute in particular, are led by commanders of combat units who even now continue to serve as company commanders and reserve officers in combat units. They are well acquainted with what is happening on the ground and strongly identify with the spirit of the IDF and its values and missions at this time.

Tavor specializes in creating an identity-shaping learning experience while combining excursions in the field with lectures and workshops.

Educational goals

  • To empower the component of the educational mission in the commander’s work and strengthen the commanders’ awareness of their ability to lead change through education.
  • To jointly explore the roots of Jewish Israeli identity.
  • To deepen the commanders’ familiarity with and affinity to the heritage of the Jewish people and the Land of Israel.
  • To provide commanders and educators with the basics of an academic program in the areas of Jewish philosophy, Zionist thought and Israeli society.
